This 1990 Ford Fiesta XR2i has been prepared as a racer and was intended by the owner to give cancer sufferers a track day experience. Unfortunately, his premature death halted the project and it has been stored since October 2021.  The car was registered in September 1990 and is showing 43,660 miles on its odometer, albeit not warranted, and there was a speedometer change around 2018/19 according to notes in the paperwork (with the MoT mileage at 13,131 in August 2018 and 43,622 in September 2019). Its last MoT expired in October 2021. Having been stored since 2021, the vendor recommends that its fuel is changed before it is run. Its colour is noted as being changed from red to its current white in January 2017. The vendor tells us that the car was rebuilt in 2018, and has not been raced since then.

A specification sheet on the Ford gives its details as having a Ford 1.8 Zetec ‘Silvertop’ 16-valve engine, Ross forged pistons, steel crank and conrods with APR bolts, full race cylinder head, fully gas-flowed with solid lifters and big valves. The cams are Piper Lotus profile 147 items with Piper vernier wheel adjustable cam timing. There are Yamaha R1 carburettors and manifold by Bogg Brothers, custom-built four-branch manifold and stainless steel exhaust, aluminium lightened flywheel and EBC race clutch, Mk4 RS Turbo LSD gearbox and ECU set up by Canems. Braided fuel lines and Samco Sports silicone hoses are installed. The brakes are Cosworth front calipers with drilled and grooved EBC discs both with Greenstuff pads. The suspension includes AVO coilovers in all four corners with full polybushing and rose-jointed and fully adjustable bottom arms. There are front and rear strut braces too. Wheels are now 7x15in Compomotive MT5 items. Other modifications carried out are a roof with no channels (which are rust traps), shaved door locks and side panels detrimmed.  There's a Cobra Thatcham Category 1 alarm, full RS Turbo interior and RS1800 bonnet and RS wheel. While the engine is not yet fully run in, a recent rolling road session showed 200bhp at 6000 revs, with the vendor telling us the engine should rev to 8500rpm.

Documentation accompanying the vehicle includes the current and past V5Cs and MoT certificates from 2000, 2002, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020. There's also a small pile of assorted invoices, mainly from around 2017/2018, Omex ITB throttle system manual and associated computer cable and technical details.
