1972 NORTON COMMANDO 

This fine 748cc Norton Commando Roadster was built in 1972, but was reimported from the USA in the mid-1990s and re-registered here in February 1997. While it has had three owners overall, the vendor has owned it since September 1997. It was restored from 2000 to 2010, with the engine top end done in 2005 and the bottom end in 2008.  and used as a ‘Sunday rider’ since then, meaning it has covered less than 5000 miles since its engine was rebuilt (albeit with the original low mileage bores left). The odometer now shows 29,257 miles. The vendor tells us that many new parts have been fitted, but trying to respect the original look. Features include RGM Grimeca front disc and caliper, Landsdowne adjustable front forks, automatic cam chain tensioner, Colorado Norton Works chainguard, Fairspares/Norvil belt primary drive, Fairspares/Norvil wheels (rebuilt in 2012), RGM extended kickstart. The gearbox was rebuilt in 2015. Pazon electronic ignition is fitted, there have been modifications to the engine breathing  and there's also a Goodridge braided stainless rocker feed, Dave Taylor head steady, Vernier Isolastics and a single Mikuni carburettor. As an historic bike, the Norton is now MoT-exempt. 

The documentation includes MoT certificates from 2002 to 2003, 2005, 2007 to 2009, 2011 and 2017, plus assorted invoices and fitting instructions. An older V5 is also included however it is not the most recent so will need to be applied for.
