An estimated 27,000 of these Heinkels, in three- and four-wheel form, were constructed, along with a few vans and convertibles, with production between 1955 and 1964 in Germany, Argentina, Ireland and England. This is a rarer Irish example, of which it's believed 6486 were completed, and was manufactured in Dundalk and first registered in October 1959. We have been advised that this Heinkel was restored some years ago but has recently been subject to other work including a respray, new sunroof and stainless steel bumpers. Owned by the vendor since 2013, it is described as driving very well with a good engine, gearbox and very clean interior. As a testament to its drivability, the car has twice competed in the Leige-Bresicia-Liege Rally for microcars, an event of around 2000 miles. Two large frames of automobilia from the LBL are included with the sale, as is a CD-ROM of images from the runs and other moments in the Heinkel's life from 2004 to 2013. The history folder contains the V5C, original buff log book dating from 1959 through to around 1967, tax discs, receipts (totalling £2861) and service sheets, MoTs, the original manual and other documents. The Heinkel's custom trailer will also come with it, meaning the three-wheeler can be easily transported.
