This Special was built between 1985 and 1992 by the vendor's uncle on a Triumph Herald (registered June 1966) chassis shortened by four inches and with a 1.5-litre twin-carb Dolomite engine. It has remained with the family for over 30 years. Every panel is hand-built, put together by the vendor's uncle to replicate a pre-war Midget , and no fibreglass was used in the construction. The odometer shows approx 10,000 miles, having been zeroed from the Special was built. The car is described as running well, with no issues, and a good sort-top. It has apparently only been used during summer. Recent work has included new brake cylinders all around.

The paperwork accompanying the vehicle includes the V5C, old green logbook for the 1966 Herald, some old tax discs, and a couple of bills. There are also MoT certificates from 1994, 1998 to 1999, 2001 to 2004, 2006 to 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2018, the latter being its last. Being based on an historic vehicle, the Triumph no longer requires annual MoT testing.
