This Sunbeam Rapier Series V - the last of the ‘Audax’ models, with 1725cc engine - was registered in February 1966 and has four registered keepers recorded on its V5C. 29,618 miles are showing on its odometer which is believed to be 129,618 from the MoT evidence. The car has been standing for around seven or eight years and has some paint-cracking and flaking in places, plus a patch of corrosion on the bottom of the offside rear wing. A new battery has just been fitted.

The car, nicknamed ‘Eavie’ (after the numberplate and possibly its second owner, Lady Southesk of Kinnaird Castle, Brechin, Scotland), comes with a very comprehensive history. This includes the V5C, assorted club magazines, owner's handbook, workshop manuals and old log books. The MoT certificates date back to 1969 and with nearly every one in the history file, they warrant the very low mileage. The last MoT was in July 2016, when the car only failed on its nearside front suspension ball joint cover being excessively deteriorated. There are many invoices spanning the Sunbeam's entire life, along with copies of magazine features and other miscellaneous documents relating to the car.

As well as spare sets of keys, the boot is loaded with four wheel trims, a head gasket, assorted hoses, headlamp, wiper arms and blades, original old carburettor and air filter assembly, brake hose, rear lamp, rear reversing light lens, clutch kit, wheel-cylinder boot, brake fluid, new thermostat and housing, two sets of rear brake shoes, heater tubing, plug spanner, spark plugs, spare bulbs and fuses and a bag of tools.
