1976 LOTUS ECLAT

2,174cc. This Eclat was purchased by the vendor from Anglia Car Auctions in 2018 when it was sold with a history file detailing works undertaken by Lotus Cars between 1983 and 1990 costing almost £14,000. This included a new galvanised chassis, suspension, steering rack, new 2.2 litre engine, 5-speed gearbox, full repaint, new leather interior, headlining and carpets The owner retained the car from 1984 until at least 2012. 

Since the vendor's purchase in 2018, further works have been undertaken including new coil and distributor, carburettors chemically cleaned and reconditioned, balanced and tuned, renewed cambelt and tensioner, reconditioned steering rack, renewed track rod ends, renewed front wheel bearings and front brake calipers reconditioned. More recently the Clarion radio has been reset, radiator replaced and wheels balanced.

The records suggest that the car has covered around 6,000 miles in the last thirty-four years. Lotus Provenance certificate, receipts dated 2010 to 2012, older V5, MoTs and tax discs from the late 1980's to the early 1990's, MoT history print-out from 2010 to 2016, owner's manual and spare keys complete the file. The mileage is recorded at 68,923.
