1976 LOTUS ELITE

Originally blue, this 1976 Lotus Elite was repainted red around 1985. Recent work listed by the vendor includes the carburettors professionally rebuilt by Eurocarb at a cost of £658. There's also been a new cambelt and tensioner bearing, the rear brakes have been overhauled, new brake shoes and wheel cylinders fitted and stainless steel braided hoses installed, along with copper pipes and a new handbrake compensation rubber. Other fresh items listed by the vendor include a new brake master cylinder, rear shocks (Gaz adjustable) and springs, aluminium radiator, rear tyres, anti-roll bushes, steering rack gaiters, track rod end and battery. The headlight mechanism has been converted to electric motors. The vendor describes the interior as in very good condition and also notes there is a small two-inch crack in the top left of the windscreen on the inside of the laminate, but because the outside is undamaged, there is no water ingress. 

The 1973cc Elite was registered in December 1976 and has 12,032 miles showing on its odometer. Its MoT is valid until March 2023 and a V5C has been applied for, but has yet to arrive. The history folder includes the owner's handbook, a notebook with details of all work done from December 2021, some recent invoices from this same era, and other miscellaneous paperwork. There's also the present MoT certificate and notes on how best to start the Lotus from cold along with a hand-drawn wiring diagram.
