This beautiful 190SL Roadster, finished in it's original colour of black, is eligible for one of the most important car events in the world, the Mille Miglia. It comes with an excellent history and has had just two registered owners since 1966. The car was supplied new in Italy and in 1966, by which time it had been painted white, was registered in Switzerland to a professor. In the early 1970's, the car was placed in storage having suffered some wiring problems. There are notes recording that it was started up as late as 1984 but remained unused until purchased by the last registered owner in 2010 when it was brought to the UK.

Between 2010 and 2015 an extensive restoration was undertaken by specialists including d:class and Roger Edwards. The car was returned to its original black although the leather interior was changed from red to beige. Parry Chana fully restored the correct Solex carburettors and had the steering box rebuilt in Germany. Further works were undertaken by specialists, Lux Classics, between 2017 and 2022. The owner has spent in excess of £65,000. Since its registration in 2015, just 600 miles have been covered.

Being manufactured in the first production year of 1955, this car is number 822 and is believed to be one of the earliest surviving examples residing in the UK. It retains some unique features which are found only on early examples. The car also comes with both soft-top and hard-top although the soft-top can not currently be secured due to the absence of poppers not being fitted around the back edge.

The history file includes an extensive quantity of invoices dating from 2010 to 2022 detailing parts and works plus images of the works. Documents from Switzerland, along with a few photos, communication with Mercedes-Benz club and Mercedes-Benz World, various articles, Certificate of Origin and original owner's manual.
