The vendor describes this Signal Red Triumph TR6 as ‘a real driver’s car', this 1970 Triumph TR6 had its engine rebuilt, with a donor block, less than 4000 miles ago in May 2015, while its gearbox was rebuilt, with an overdrive added, in 2013. It has recently been serviced (at 28,405 miles). Consequently, it is running well, and was driven to the auction. Built in 1970, the car was initially used in the USA (the date of its conversion to right-hand drive and presumably restoration at the same time is unknown; its colour was changed from Jasmine Yellow to Signal Red in April 2008) and UK-registered in September 1989. The current indicated mileage is 29,488 miles (in April 2008, the total was 15,888 miles) and the MoT is valid until May 2025 even though, as an historic vehicle, the Triumph no longer requires annual testing.

We are told that the Triumph has seen little use in the last seven years, being kept on blocks in the garage with a battery conditioning charger. Power output has been measured at 158bhp, considerably more than the original US spec of 104bhp. Upgrades include a TriumphTune fast-road camshaft, uprated rocker shaft, lightened and balanced flywheel, K&N power air filters, electronic ignition, thermostatically-controlled cooling fan, oil cooler, rear adjustable Spax gas telescopic shock absorbersm Koni front shock absorbers and full stainless steel exhaust system. The condition of the hood is reported to be good, as is the tonneau cover, while the bodywork is said to be clean with no rot.

Paperwork with the Triumph includes the V5C, vendor's history notes, and £8000-worth of invoices.
