This Flavia, with its elegant styling by Pininfarina, is being offered by the wife of the deceased owner. He had the car in his possession for over 30 years and was a well‑known member of the Flavia club. She tells us that 'the car was the love of his life. He wasn't into the look of things, he just like the way it worked'. The servicing bills and all other documents in the file certainly do support this statement. When he acquired the car in 1989 from the first owner, he changed the colour from silver to its current blue.

It comes with an amazing history file contained in two folders dating from the very early years right through to the present. As well as the current and previous V5s, there's a copy of the owner's instruction book, club literature, and comprehensive invoices from Lancia specialist Omicron Classico (who also serviced it over

the last two decades) amounting to several thousands, as well as from other companies, stretching right back to the 1970s. The MoTs date from the 1970s, which confirm that the car's current recorded mileage of 17,610 is actually 117,610, it having 'gone around the clock' just before its May 2006 MoT. The folders also contain 1960s' (and later) road tests from magazines and even an original classified advert from the London Evening Standard of 1973, an owner's guide for the Motorola 727/828 radio (which, sadly, is no longer present), other owner documentation, plus hand-drawn graphs showing performance figures for the Lancia and some of its rivals. Reading through and absorbing all of the history could easily use up a whole day - it's that comprehensive. This is a car where almost every bit of associated paperwork has been lovingly kept.

While both the bodywork and interior now require some work, this is a Lancia that is now very rare in the UK, and has obviously been thoroughly looked after mechanically throughout its life. It was cherished by its last owner for a long time and deserves a home where it can continue to have care and attention lavished on it.
