Lot Number: 203
Estimate: £1,000 - 1,500
  • V5 Present
  • MoT May 2022
  • Chassis number: VF320AA9224660086
The Peugeot XUD family of motors has long been regarded as one of the best diesel engines ever created, with comparatively high power outputs, refinement, lightness and longevity. As an example of just how durable these engines can be, this Peugeot 205 1.8 GLD was bought by the vendor brand new in 1991; since then, it's covered an impressive 228,592 miles.

The car comes with a history folder that includes the original bill of sale, all its previous MoTs and the V5 document. There's also the original new vehicle wallet, with radio code card, maintenance/warranty booklet, radio operation manual, dealer location guide and owner's handbook. The current MoT expires in May 2022, with the only advisory being for a blown registration plate lamp. The owner tells us that the car is completely original and has been rust‑proofed from new, commenting further that 'it's a very straight car and everything works'. He has serviced the car himself regularly, with cambelt changes when required.

Given its age and how many miles it has covered, this 205 is still very presentable. There are a few signs of age and wear ‑ such as some fading and polish scratches on the roof, and a slight change of paint hue on the offside front wing ‑ but overall, this original 30‑year old small Peugeot is standing up very well.
