Our vendor believes that this motorcycle was manufactured in 1928 and was ridden in June 1949 at a Garden Fete and Grass Track Speedway meeting held in the grounds of Middleton Tower, near Kings Lynn. At the time the Rudge was owned by his friend and motorcycling legend Bill Kitchen who was unable to attend the event. A photo of George riding the Rudge features in the George Formby Biography 'It's Turned Out Nice Again'. Unused for a number of years, some recommissioning will be required before use.
