- MoT Exempt
- Chassis number: 45858
The nomenclature '121' designated the base model variant with a single carburettor and 66bhp. Estate variants joined the saloons in 1962. This 121 estate was registered in 1967 (although there is an error on the HPI check document which says it was registered in 1954) and is fitted with the 1778cc B18 engine, justifiably renowned for its reliability and durability.

The car has 53,906 miles recorded on its odometer, although this isn't warranted. Five former keepers are recorded. There is no V5C; however there is the confirmation of the legal right to sell. The vendor, a Volvo specialist, initially serviced the car for one of its previous owners, who purchased the car in 1992. In 2011, that owner moved to Australia and sold the car to the company. Unfortunately, over the course of the intervening 11 years, the V5C has been misplaced. The vendor's advice is that the car is MoT'd and then a new V5C applied for. Other paperwork includes MoT certificates from 2003 and 2010, a photographic record of body work done, and a selection of invoices from 2018 to 2021. These include £3191 of restoration work in 2018, £421 of front and rear bumper repair work in 2019, £892 for rear tailgate repairs, a new subframe and repairs and finishings to corner panels also during 2019, and several other large bills for body repairs up to November 2021.
The car drives well, with a particularly easy four-speed gearbox, fitted with overdrive. It also has twin SU carburettors, instead of the single one it started life with. Cosmetically, the Volvo could do with some further work to improve it, but seems solid and very usable. The vendor has noted that known defects are the need for a new ignition switch barrel and windscreen rubber, plus a nearside inner wing repair panel within the engine bay (although the current panel should not fail the MoT).
