Lot Number: 213

- Chassis number: 2K2036BW
The Double Six was the model name Daimler bestowed on its V12 Jaguar XJ models of the 1970s to the 1990s, reviving an old designation first used in the 1920s. Only 3767 Double Six Series II cars were built from 1973 to 1978.
This example was registered in December 1974 and now has a mileage of 73,679 miles showing on its odometer. Nine former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C and the fresh MoT is valid until January 2022.
The paperwork folder includes the V5C and current MoT certificate. The British Leyland Passport to Service service book is present, which is stamped up to 36,260 miles in 1978. After that, there are hand‑written notes detailing the jobs done from 1981 to 1984. There's also the owner's handbook and the original Daimler‑branded document folder. The sheaf of bills and invoices dates from 2020 back to around 1981 and includes one for new headlining during February 2021. There are MoT certificates from 2020, 2015, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1991, 1990, 1989 and 1988; together with the invoices, these help back up the indicated mileage. In recent years, the Daimler seems to have spent some time off the road, between tests.
