The R8 generation of Rover's 200 hatchback series was built from 1989 to 1995 and was based on the Honda Concerto. Engine sizes ranged from 1.4 litres to 2.0 litres, with petrol engines from both Rover and Honda, and diesel ones from Peugeot.

This is a 216 GSi Auto, registered in August 1992 and fitted with Honda's 1590cc overhead‑cam engine of 108bhp. Two former registered keepers are noted on the V5C. The indicated mileage on the odometer is 51,347 miles (albeit not warranted), and the MoT is valid until June 2022.

The paperwork includes the V5C plus the original Rover document wallet with owner's handbook and other sundry literature plus the 2021 MoT certificate.

The car has obviously been carefully looked after throughout its life, and is excellent condition inside and out, with the issues that often affect these Rovers ‑ such as corrosion around the rear wheel arches, sagging and discoloured bumpers, tatty seats and droopy headlining ‑ all absent on this example.
