Lincoln's Town Car was a luxury saloon range built from 1981 to 2011 by Ford's prestige US arm, running to three generations over 30 model years. As such, the Town Car served as Ford's flagship model, intended to compete with GM's Cadillacs.
This second generation 4.6‑litre example was first registered in the USA in 1995, but came to the UK in 2006, being registered here in June of that year. The mileage is recorded as 129,088 by the digital odometer, and the car is MoT'd until October 2022. The V5C records one former registered keeper since the vehicle came to Britain.
Included in the paperwork file are the current V5C plus some past ones, along with MoT certifcates from 2006 to, 2017 and 2019 to 2021. There's also a large stack of UK invoices from 2006, showing lots of money spent and care lavished. The most recent bill is for a new battery fitted in June 2021. The only bit of paperwork from the car's life over the other side of the Atlantic is the registration document from Virginia, USA. Also in the folder is an original sales brochure, owner's manual, warranty information booklet and service booklet (albeit unmarked) plus a Chilton (the US arm of Haynes) workshop manual.
