The Dolly special edition of the 2CV was introduced in March 1985, and featured a bright bright two‑tone Art Deco colour scheme. The original colour combinations offered were grey/white, grey/red and grey/yellow, but when these sold out very quickly, a second series of Dolly models were produced in September in white/red, white/green and beige/maroon. The demand continued and so Citroën made the Dolly a permanent 2CV model. When that happened, the Dolly switched emphasis somewhat; instead of being based on the more luxurious Club, the production Dolly was based on the basic 2CV Spécial instead. In the UK, the Dolly soon became the best‑selling 2CV model.
The vendor has owned this green and white one, registered in April 1987, since 2014 and tells us that it has been garaged most of its life, with 'little or no rust'. After having been 'sympathetically recommissioned' with new exhaust, shock absorbers, tyres, coil, it was MoT'd until May 2017 and thereafter had little use, being kept in a dry garage.
The car has recently been serviced, with a new brake master cylinder fitted ‑ which means, says the vendor, that it now 'runs, drives and stops as it should'.
The odometer reading is 84,500 miles, and six owners are recorded by the V5C, which is present. Also included in the history folder are MoT certificates, assorted invoices and the driver's handbook. There is no current MoT.
