Introduced in 1929, the Humber 16/50 replaced its ageing 14/40 predecessor, with a smooth six‑cylinder 2110cc inlet‑over‑exhaust engine cylinder. New features included coil ignition, a mechanical fuel pump and Bendix brakes. The high quality machine was aimed at professional and middle class motorists of the era.

This smart‑looking example was registered in June 1930 and was last MoT'd in 2012. The odometer currently shows 2,791 miles.

The Humber comes with a wonderful history folder, including quite a bit of correspondence dating back to 1930 between Humber ltd, T.B. Andre & Co and the first owner A.G. Slater Cook Esq concerning some work covered under guarantee. It makes fascinating reading.

The Humber was passed from the original owner to his daughter and remained with her until 1964 when sold to Don Hilton. In 1986, the Humber was owned by a gentleman in Norwich before entering long term ownership again from 1989 to 2019. The car presents well, having been well cared for throughout it's ownership. The history folder includes the current V5C plus some old ones and the old buff logbook dating from 1959. There are instructions from one of the previous owners on how to start the car as well as another sheet listing all the work done between April 2003 and March 2017. There's some correspondence with the Humber Register, along with other letters that date right from the start of the 16/50's life.

The MoTs date from 1986 to 2012, and there are also some bills and invoices from throughout the later part of the 20th century and into the 21st. In addition, there's a some newspaper articles and magazine features relating to the general model, and some featuring this car in particular.
