1978 MG Midget 1500
Lot Number: 321
Result inc Premium: £2,916
- V5 To be applied for
- MoT Exempt
- Chassis number: GAN6207624G
This late MG Midget, with 1493cc engine, has had two owners in total from new, with the first, up until 2016, being a lady. The vendor tells us the car has 'always been maintained and serviced', which seems to be largely backed up by the history file. A new mohair hood has recently been fitted and the Rostyle wheels have been refurbished. The car is reported as driving 'extremely well'.
The mileage indicated on the odometer of the Midget, which was registered in August 1978, is 99,734 miles. There's an MoT valid until the end of July 2022, although as an historic vehicle, the MG no longer requires annual testing.
The paperwork includes the V5C/2 green slip (not the entire V5C) and original book with driver's handbook and British Leyland Passport to Service book, albeit with only one stamp from 1978. There's a large stack of invoices dating back to the mid‑1980s along with some old MoTs and tax discs. A spare set of keys also comes with the car.
