Back- V5 Present
- MoT Exempt
- Chassis number: EOTTA141971
Finished in Dorchester Grey and Winchester Blue and fitted with a rear Continental spare wheel kit, the car was first registered in May 1955. Its owner from 1990 to 2008 was a professional panel beater and mechanic and he gave the car a full body‑off restoration, a photographic record of which is included in the history folder. Where necessary, lead‑loading was used rather than any filler, and the Ford was also rewired with a brand new loom, while the engine was rebuilt with new pistons, rings and valves. At this point, the odometer was zeroed.

Unfortunately, the owner passed away before the car could be completed, but it was completed by a subsequent owner from 2011 to 2013. The car's appearance in The Crown was filmed during 2017.
Six former previous registered keepers are noted on the V5C, which is present. There are also previous V5s plus assorted MoT certificates, tax discs and invoices from 2018 back. These include a new driving lamp during 2018 and retrimmed front and rear seats (at a price of £700) in 2012. In addition, there's the envelope showing the restoration work in progress. The current indicated mileage is 889 - remember, the odometer was reset when the engine was built. General condition is very good, although as the restoration was carried out some time ago now, there are some areas on the bodywork where the paint has been touched up, the occasional bubble, and some micro-blistering.
The Ford is noted on the V5C as a Zephyr Six, and was originally green. It's unclear whether, during its restoration, it was converted to Zephyr Zodiac spec or if its model type was incorrectly recorded by the DVLA. All details - such as the two-tone paintwork, leather trim, heater, windscreen washers, whitewall tyres, spot lights and gold badging - appear correct for a Zephyr Zodiac however.
