In the mid‑1950s, the very traditional and conservative Alvis revamped its image with handsome bodies styled by the Swiss coachbuilder Graber, albeit mostly built by Park Ward in Willisden, North London.

This six‑cylinder 2993cc TD21 automatic (with the transmission controlled by a small slider in the centre of the dashboard) was registered in August 1961 and is one of just 1098 TC108G/TD21 cars built between 1956 and 1963. These later cars feature front disc brakes, an improvement on the all‑round drums used on earlier versions. According to the vendor, it has recently had a full repaint and a check‑over. The leather is believed original and thus has a comfortable patina to it. The toolkit, jack and factory manual are supplied, and the valuable cherished numberplate, 684 WAR, will stay with the car.

The paperwork folder includes the current and past V5Cs, showing six former registered keepers. In addition to a photocopy of the owner's manual with technical information, there's also lots of service and maintenance history dating back to the 1970s, as well as many bills from the foremost Alvis specialist Red Triangle. There are a selection of photos, which appear to come from 2000 according to the date stamp on the back, showing the Alvis being restored (with correspondence pointing to lots of work done around this time). A handwritten note from, presumably, a previous owner, lists the major work carried out between 1973 and 1998, from circa 32,670 miles through to 41,513 miles. An enclosed copy of a Motor Trader article from May 1960 chronicles some technical and maintenance procedures. In addition, a handwritten note details a £2000 respray on the car, although the date of this isn't shown.
