Lot Number: 600
Estimate: £10,000 - 12,000
  • V5 Present
  • MoT Exempt
  • Chassis number: 1152823
This Jensen Interceptor MkI was registered in June 1968, two years after the model was launched. A total of 1029 MkI cars were built up until October 1969, 923 of which were right‑hand drive. It was acquired by our vendor in 2019 as a part‑completed project with the body having been restored and painted. It is believed that the vast majority of the parts needed come with the car, including the engine and gearbox.

Unfortunately, as can often be the case, other commitments have placed this Jensen at the end of the queue so it is being offered for sale in the hope that someone else can complete the project. The vendor believes that the most expensive aspect ‑ the body restoration ‑ is largely complete, so the car just needs the mechanicals and reassembly undertaken. 1058 miles are recorded, although this isn't warranted.

The car comes with its current and older V5Cs, Jensen Motors Statement of Origin (Heritage certificate equivalent) showing it to be Mist Grey with black leather and power steering, and copies of the factory build records and some early correspondence with Jensen Motors largely regarding work being completed under guarantee. There are also copies of a couple of magazine articles relating to Jensen Interceptors. Eight former registered keepers are noted on the V5C.
