Registered in October 1993, this is a genuine armoured police Land Rover Defender, although its current 'Police Bomb Disposal' appearance may be more down to it recently being owned by a TV and movie vehicle supply company. While little is known about the 110 2.5TDi's first few years, the Penman Engineering-converted vehicle was was acquired in 1996 by Birmingham-based rail consultancy firm Aegis Engineering. It stayed there until 2000 when it was purchased by South Yorkshire Police. There is a record of its time there, chronicling servicing, other maintenance, and safety checks, from 2000 to 2010, during which period the mileage went from 42,404 to 53,226 miles. Two former keepers are recorded, and there's a fresh MoT valid until February 2023. The paperwork file includes the V5C, plus MoT certificates from 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022. The current mileage is recorded as 56,824 miles, although this isn't warranted. The Land Rover, which is in generally good order throughout, comes with its police-fitted equipment such as side skirts, front bull bar, roof lamp and emergency lights still in place. It drives as it should, although, as an armoured Land Rover, it is a heavy vehicle to pilot.
