The C1 was an unusual scooter, built by Bertone for BMW in small numbers from 2000 to 2002. The bike, with its curved overall roof, offered much better weather and safety protection than most two‑wheeled machines and was intended to appeal to car drivers.

This example, a 'Family's Friend' 125cc model, registered in September 2002, is showing just 7824 miles on its odometer. It is MoT'd until March 2023, with no advisories noted during the recent test. The vendor tells us it has also been recently serviced (at 7791 miles in November 2021). Features of this bike include an aftermarket remote/alarm (with instructions) and extra BMW top box.

The paperwork folder includes the present V5C and copies of some past ones, as well as the current MoT certificate plus ones from 2006 to 2008, 2010 to 2011, and 2014 to 2017. There's also a large stack of invoices dating back to when the C1 was new, as well as photocopy of a BMW service and technical booklet and a June 2000 Motorcycle Sport & Leisure magazine article on the C1.
