In 2002, this Defender's original 4.0 engine was replaced with a new 300bhp 4.6 low compression cross‑bolted unit built by V8 Developments. An Eaton supercharger developing 4 psi of boost was also fitted with a KCH200 camshaft and hydraulic tappets. This enabled 25% more power to be produced and a reliable smooth delivery. The brakes and suspension were improved. The vendor purchased the Defender in 2005 from James French and in 2008 a new Coscast 4.6 engine was fitted by RPi Engineering at a cost of £5,687. The vehicle was fully featured in Land Rover Owner magazine in 2010. The new engine has been correctly registered at DVLA. It has had three owners from new and comes complete with a comprehensive history file containing the service book with 12 stamps between 1999 and 2011, original 50th Anniversary handbook, invoice and documents relating to engine change and upgrades, an edition of LRO magazine, 2005 bill of sale, MoTs and receipts. The mileage is warranted at 133,916.
