Lot Number:
Estimate: £3,500 - 4,500
  • V5 Present
  • Chassis number: T5139CYCYL2H52409
After being founded in 1979 and building a number of retro‑styled roadsters, Devon‑based Marlin switched to the more modern‑looking mid‑engined 5EXi model in 2004. With a glassfibre shell, spaceframe chassis and Rover 200 components, and offering around 200bhp in its most potent form, it was available as a kit or fully‑assembled car by the factory. This example features Rover's 2.0‑litre turbocharged engine, as found in the 220 Tomcat, (although the V5 records it as a 1.6‑litre, so will need amending) and has covered 57,162 miles. The overall condition is good; the blue bodywork does display a few scratches and paint cracks here and there, while the cockpit, with its racing seats plus Rover 200 dashboard and steering wheel, is surviving well. There is no current MoT.
