Lot Number:
Estimate: No Reserve
  • V5 Present
  • MoT Exempt

Bedford vans have always been popular basis for ice cream van conversions, from the CA model onwards. Once upon a time, no visit to the British seaside was ever complete without a Mr Whippy with a flake served from the hatch of something assembled in Luton.

This 1978 CF is a classic example of what was once an everyday summer sight. Registered in November 1978, the 2279cc‑engined vehicle has only two former registered keepers noted on its V5C, the last one of which owed the van from 1987. The Bedford's last MoT expired in October 2013; it's believed to have been off‑the‑road since then and is thus being sold as a restoration project which will obviously require recommissioning to be used again, where it can take its rightful place among the many other historic catering vehicles that have been revived for 21st century use. The only paperwork present is the current V5C, plus a past one
