Lot Number: 371
Result inc Premium: £3,240
  • V5 Present
  • Chassis number: 225298SP
This 1934 Standard Nine R9 has come direct from a film company, where it was used as a stunt vehicle for the forthcoming production of Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, a TV adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel due to be screened in 2022 starring Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent and Emma Thompson (among others). The Standard was purchased undamaged and driving for the purposes of a stunt.

It now has damage to both front wings, front valance, the bumper, numberplate and radiator grille (which has two shallow dents in its top). The steering wheel is also in several pieces and the fuel tank has been removed for Health & Safety purposes. This is still with the vehicle and can be reinstated. Because the accident was staged for a TV production, the Standard 9 is not recorded as a total loss and has clear title although the V5 incorrectly states the year of first registration as 1932.

The history folder includes the current and some previous V5Cs, a selection of bills including one for five new tyres in July 2019, assorted MoTs, various club magazines and other sundry paperwork. The recorded mileage is 77,005.
