Lot Number: 418
Result inc Premium: £12,690
  • MoT Exempt
  • Chassis number: 1J2851
This Jaguar 240 was registered in June 1968 and has five former keepers recorded. Formerly beige, its colour was changed to the present dark blue in 1987.

The car has been restored at some point, as there are photos in the paperwork file that show it being rebuilt. Dates on the back of these pictures suggest the job was done over 1989 and 1990. However, there's also a large amount of bills for body parts dating from between 2000 and 2005 which suggest further extensive work was done around this time. Other invoices, many from well‑known specialists such as SNG Barratt, David Manners and Martin Robey, range from 2000 to 2017, and show considerable amounts of money spent in recent years. There are also Martin Robey and SNG Barratt parts lists in the folder.

The current odometer reading is 4414 miles; it's unclear whether this is actually 104,414 miles or if the odometer was zeroed during a restoration. The last recorded MoT was in 2017 at 3648 miles; there are previous certificates for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The V5C green slip is present. and there's a set of spare keys as well.

The car's overall condition is good, although there is some cracking in the paintwork as well as a few bubbles. Chrome wire wheels are fitted. Inside, the Ambla upholstery is in fine order, but there is some deterioration of the wood veneer.
