When Renault wanted to give itself a somewhat racier image during the 1990s, the result was the Renault Sport Spider, of 1996 to 1999. Approximately 1800 cars were produced during that period, with only 100 of those in right‑hand drive format and, of those, 92 being were imported into the UK ‑ thus making this blue‑over‑silver 148bhp 2‑litre roadster a rare beast over here.

This 1997 example was registered in August of that year and is MoT'd until March 2023. 14,351 miles are indicated on the odometer, and while this isn't warranted, the online MoT history does tend to back it up ‑ back in July 2005, when the record starts, the mileage was recorded as 9428 miles.

The history folder includes the V5C, original Spider alloy document case with policy document, Renault UK network list and accessories list. The service book is stamped up to January 2020 at 13,810 miles (for which there is an invoice for £485), when the cambelt was also done as well. The file also includes the spare key, locking wheelnut tool, three touch-up pens, a workshop manual, parts manual and handbook on CD-ROM, and MoT certificates from 2022 and 2001, plus the online MoT history print-out. An invoice from April 2021 shows a new Varta battery fitted while one from February 2020 indicates a new catalytic converter. There are a few other bills from recent years as well, along with a copy of Performance French Cars magazine from November/December 2018 with a small feature on the Spider.

The car comes with its full weather tonneau cover, a bikini weather top and genuine Spider car cover.
