Lot Number: 289
Result inc Premium: £15,930
  • V5 Present
  • MoT Exempt
  • Chassis number: LD43905A
This Pimiento Red Triumph Stag with black leather interior was registered in January 1978, after production of the model had ceased. Now showing 93,224 miles on its odometer, the car had a ground‑up restoration in 1998 and a partial respray in 2008. While there is no current MoT, and as the Stag is now classed as an historic vehicle it no longer requires one, its last one expired at the end of December 2020.

The paperwork folder is an extensive one and includes the current V5C as well as past ones, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust factory record certificate, tax discs, photos of the car and mementos of previous classic car shows and runs attended by the Stag. The stack of invoices is a hefty one, and stretches back to the 1980s. One of the more recent invoices is for a new hood in 2018 at a cost of £616. The MoT certificates date from 1982 to 1987, 1992, 1994 to 2001, 2003 to 2005, 2007, 2008 to 2009, 2010 to 2011 and 2013 to 2017.

Overall, the car presents very well although, up close, some microblistering is apparent on the passenger side of the vehicle.
