1968 Wolseley Hornet MKIII
1968 Wolseley Hornet MKIII
Lot Number:
Estimate: No Reserve
- MoT Exempt
- Chassis number: WA2531063092A
The Wolseley Hornet, along with the Riley Elf, was one of the early attempts to inject some luxury into the Mini, adding a traditional upright grille, small fins and a larger boot. This example was registered in November 1968, making it one of the final MkIII variants with a 998cc engine. Finished in a very attractive maroon and white livery, the car has had just four previous recorded owners from new. Its last MoT expired in February 2019; as an historic vehicle, it no longer requires annual testing.
The history folder runs to the V5C, driver's handbook, and a collection of bills and invoices. These include a refurbished hydrolastic suspension displacer in October 2021, new carburettor parts in January 2019, and timing chain and associated parts in March 2018. There's also a Haynes workshop manual for the 1959 to 1969 Mini range.
