This MG WA was purchased by the present owner's father in 1984 as his retirement hobby although originally he had wanted an SA as his family had owned one in the 1930's. However, he did not realise how rare the WA was and for many years it remained the only one running in the UK.  During the family's ownership, the car was entered in many rallies and events in the northwest of England and travelled all over Europe participating in the Euroclassic and Norwich Union rallies. The vendor's husband inherited the car in 1999 and continued to participate in events, winning numerous prizes and featuring in several books and magazines. to a Major in the British Army from 1979 who fitted new red leather upholstery, headlining and carpets. Details of the four owners from 1939 to 1984 are provided including from 1977 when it was purchased by the then WA Spares Secretary for the SVW Register following a ten year period of being off the road. At that time the car was subject to a full body-off restoration undertaken by White Bros of Laurel Garage, Marlborough and the owner, himself, rebuilt the engine, the total restoration took around two years to complete. It comes with the green log book dating from 1961, instruction manuals, service history documents including correspondence and invoices dating from the late 1970's through to 2017, MoTs, mileage records, spare keys an club magazines. The MoT history confirms that it was issued annually from 2006 until 2017. Current mileage reading is 45,418.
