This delightful and rare 1967 Fiat 1100R Familiale is believed to have originally been owned by a vineyard near Turin, but was then stored for several years before being imported into the UK in 2019. During 2022, it was given a full body refurbishment and bare metal respray in original Fiat Pavone (Peacock) Blue costing £4800, plus a service and many new parts including a brake overhaul, carburettor overhaul, exhaust, four tyres, suspension bushes and electrics. It is believed to be the only one in the UK, with only a handful still left in mainland Europe. Built in September 1967, its UK registration was in April 2019 and the Fiat has had three registered keepers since then. As an historic vehicle, the 1100R no longer requires annual MoT testing.
The car is described as running and driving superbly with no issues, and is a ‘matching numbers’ vehicle. It hasn't been upgraded save for period extras such as the FAPA roofrack, period Quartz dashboard clock and windscreen parking indicator. It also has an unusual period ‘carro agricolo’ (agricultural wagon) licence plate attached to its inner rear door.
Paperwork accompanying the vehicle includes the V5C, a workshop manual, some recent UK invoices, UK registration correspondence and a Fiat Chrysler Autos dating letter from 2019. There's also a list of the work carried out after the car came to the UK. The vehicle also comes with a spare ignition key.
