This 1939 Sunbeam Tourer was purchased in disassembled form after it has been stripped down for an intended restoration. Instead, it was put together by the vendor after he bought it in 2019 and completed in December of that year. The work involved the chassis being reconditioned, all-new wood frame, reconditioned engine, new tyres, new brake linings, drums reskinned, electric fan, new water pump, new petrol pump, new black leather interior, new hood and new walnut dashboard.

The 1189cc car was registered in March 1939 and is showing 701 miles on its odometer (which may be the mileage covered since restoration). There's no online record of an MoT; as an historic vehicle though, the Sunbeam no longer requires annual testing. The Tourer is described as running well with no problems, and was garaged over the winter. Just general maintenance and servicing has been carried out recently. Paperwork includes the V5C, continuation buff logbook, and some invoices. There's also a photocopy of the Rootes workshop manual and a parts catalogue.
