1965 YAMAHA YM1 305CC
The twin-carb, air-cooled, five-speed 305cc Yamaha YM1 was only built between 1964 to 1966, and at the time was the flagship of Yamaha's sports bikes.. This ‘matching numbers’ example was built in 1965 but only imported into the UK in April 1986 and registered here in October 2013. Since then, it has had three registered keepers. The odometer shows 28 miles, but this seems to have been reset between 2013 and 2014; at its 2013 MoT the total was 12,875 miles, in 2014 it was stated as five miles. The last MoT expired in August 2018; however, as an historic bike it is now MoT-exempt. The vendor states that the bike is running very well. We are told that it received a nut-and-bolt restoration in 2017 by collector Frank Harvey costing over £10,000. It has also received a full service, new battery, new tyres, its carburettors cleaned, the tank lined, new fuel and filters and new plugs. Paperwork includes the current and past V5Cs, C&E 386 form for import into Liverpool in 1996, MoT certificates, registration info and a Yamaha dating letter.
