This lovely little Austin Seven was restored in 1974 after being used as a chicken shed, and was acquired by its current owner in December 2016. It has received only periodic use since 2021 and was last out on the road in 2024. Recent work has included four new Blockley tyres and tubes, the brakes relined and the kingpins rebushed. The Austin is running and driving but the vendor tells us that there is a knocking noise from the propshaft central joint at low speed and on the overrun. The speedometer isn't working (the odometer shows 0002 miles) and the horn is intermittent. All oils were changed in 2024 and the antifreeze in 2023. There's no record of an MoT back to 2005, when online MoT records began. However, as an historic vehicle, the Austin no longer requires annual testing. Paperwork includes the V5C, green logbook, MoT certificates from 1974 and 1996 (with both times the recorded mileage being 0002 miles) and a Pitman's Motorists' Library Book of the Austin Seven and Eight.
