1966 FORD CORTINA GT MKI

This smart and purposeful-looking Ford Cortina MkI GT has been upgraded by a previous owner for time trials. Our vendor tells us that it was restored at some point before he bought it in 2013, with modifications including twin-40 Weber carburettors, a roll cage and Dunlop aluminium wheels along with front spotlights, air horns, a full harness seatbelt and sump-guard plus isolator ‘kill’ switch in the centre of the dash. It is reported to be running and driving well, although the vendor notes that the fuel gauge doesn't work properly. The Cortina was registered in June 1966 and is showing 72,603 miles on its odometer. Its last MoT expired in October 2020 after being tested the year before at an indicated 72,573 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Ford no longer required annual testing. Paperwork includes the current V5C and a past V5, photos of the car being restored and in action at events, RAC Motor Sports Association historic rally papers from 2001, and assorted MoT certificates back to 1994.
