This stately 1955 Austin Princess DM4 saw use as a GOC (General Officer Commanding) military special forces staff car before being registered as a civilian vehicle in March 1978. The odometer shows 28,728 miles and the MoT is valid until April 2026 even though, as an historic vehicle, the Princess no longer requires annual testing. The Austin is running and driving although the vendor notes that it may need spark plug leads and carburettor adjustment while the exhaust may require some welding. The car has been part-restored inside and out, including paint, new rear brakes, four tyres and the interior has been cleaned. The car comes with its spare tyre and original jack plus military insignia. The dashboard still has its service number and the Commander's illuminated plate switch.

Paperwork includes a well-presented folder of history including more on the military story of the car, British Motor Heritage Certificate, the current and past V5Cs, old V5, MoTs back to 1988, old tax discs, brochures, invoices, adverts and magazine features.
