2005 BMW R1150 RS

1,130cc. We sold this BMW R1150 RS in April, but the buyer has decided it's not quite right for him after all. It comes with an MoT to 14th May 2026.

This bike previously formed part of the Metropolitan Police ‘Special Escort Group’ (SEG) escorting the Queen and other members of the Royal Family. A service sheet shows that it was serviced between three and five times every year during this period, up to 20,444 miles in 2012. Today the odometer is showing 20,845 miles, and its condition is commensurate with the meticulous service standards, the appearance maintained by each rider after every duty.

It is fitted with upgrades including heated grips, calibrated speedometer, hazard lights, GPS bar, bi-Xenon headlight fitted in 2014, blue front strobes, rear blue LEDs, lockable rear box, lockable panniers, aerial and centre & side stand. A new battery was fitted in May, and the tyres are also recent.

The bike comes with a bunch of spare keys, a set of indicators and a battery optimiser. The history folder includes photos of what is believed to be this bike performing its original escort duties, plus the current V5C in the vendor's name. Also included is a Union Jack flag, motorcycle cover, and a hardback book entitled ‘Escorting The Monarch’. 

The vendor advises that the ABS is not working, although the brakes still function.
