1097cc. The oldest vehicle in our sale, this delightful Swift Q-type 10HP Tourer is now over 100 years old, and reportedly has all matching numbers from new. The car was made in Coventry (largely hand-built) with a three-speed ‘crash’ gearbox, cone clutch, and rear brakes only, and first registered on 8th April 1924. It reportedly had a mechanical restoration in 2002, which included the side-valve engine receiving new valve seats, re-metalled rods and a crank regrind, and the dynamo was also rewired. (Sadly there are no receipts relating to this work.) More recently, the Swift received four new tyres in 2022 and a new battery earlier this year. At some stage the engine has been fitted with an electric coolant pump, and an isolator is installed under the battery box.

Charming example, ideal for vintage outings, and the vendor has apparently been using it at weekends. It comes with its current V5C, ‘Care and Maintenance’ manuals, various publications by The Swift Club, diagrams and technical information, and copies of original promotional material.
