1979 FIAT X1/9
This 1979 Fiat X1/9 has been off the road for about 20 years when an extensive restoration program was commenced. Our vendor tells us that during this time the Fiat has benefitted from a full body restoration and further works including a engine rebuild and brake refurbishment. Although much work has been done and the car does run and drive, a final push is required to get it back on the road including the fitting of the door windows and door cards. It was first registered to a company before being transferred to the company owner the following year and was retained by him until 1990.
As a 1979 example of Fiat's mid-engine X1/9 it benefits from the updated 1.5-litre engine, 5-speed gearbox and aluminium bumpers, giving much better drivability than the earlier 1.3-litre 4-speed models. This example is showing 66,400 miles on its odometer and ties in with the 65,939 recorded miles when last MoT'd in 2003.
The car comes with various maintenance receipts, mostly dating from the current registered keeper's tenure which began in 2022. The file also contains a good collection of MoT certificates dating from 1982 to 2003, together with previous valuation certificates, sales receipts, original handbook, and past & current V5Cs. The vendor has also included spare parts to complete the Fiat including the door glass. Seven registered owners with the first two being the same
