1963 LANCIA FLAVIA
LOT 550

- Chassis number: 8151312370
- Engine size: 1500cc
This Lancia Flavia is a rare example of a coach-built Pininfarina coupé, ready for restoration. Its 1.5-litre engine has been upgraded to 1.8-litre, and some years ago it benefited from cylinder head refurbishments together with the addition of an oil cooler. The vendor says, "As a result, the engine runs very smoothly. I had it running recently and it started easily." It features an appealing burgundy interior, and there are 65,066 miles showing on the odometer.
The car is accompanied by an instruction book, an old-style duplicate log book, and a copy of its Italian identification certificate, dated 4th April 1961. It was first registered in the UK on 22nd March 1963, and its latest MoT expired in 2019. Spare keys are also present, but the V5C has been lost so the next owner will need to apply to the DVLA for a new one.
The vendor advises that the brakes will need attention as the car has been sitting for a few years, and there is structural rust under the car. It was purchased by the vendor's father 4 years ago as a joint restoration project, but his father has since passed away. “Most Pininfarina coupés from the 1960s are red and carry a prancing horse, commanding exorbitant money!” he adds.
