1979 TOYOTA HI-ACE RIO - ONE REGISTERED OWNER

This rare Toyota Hi-Ace Rio camper is a grey import, sold to the vendor's father in 1981. Its paperwork includes the original bill of sale from John Brundle Motors in King's Lynn, carrying what appears to be the authentic signature of F1 driver and commentator Martin Brundle, a few years before he was signing autographs. The odometer is showing 55,379 miles, and the vendor tells us it “drives really nicely”. Spec includes a four-speed synchromesh gearbox, water-cooled 1.6-litre petrol and dual-line servo-assisted brakes.

Dry storage has preserved its overall condition, and the Hi-Ace wears an impressive range of original features. It comes with a few maintenance receipts, various old MoT certificates, original handbooks and the service book which indicates 10 services (including PDI) up to 40,987 miles in 1988. Although the latest MoT (passed with no advisories) expired in 2021, the vehicle is now MoT exempt and had been tested every year from 2010 onwards. First registration in the UK was on 1st February 1981.

It is also supplied with spare keys and an electric hook-up cable.
