1996 LOTUS ESPRIT V8

This Lotus Esprit V8 is finished in Lotus Racing Green, with a Fawn leather interior and a removable glass roof. According to the accompanying heritage certificate, it is the 36th production V8 for the UK, 1 of only 3 built in this colour in 1996, and the only one with gold interior piping. The odometer is showing 47,066 miles and the car has an advisory-free MoT to 14th July 2026.

The history file documents a high degree of ongoing care by Lotus specialists, with maintenance including replacement of the V8's turbos in 2019. The vendor purchased this Esprit in 2021 at around 42,500 miles and soon after sent it to SJ Sportscars for replacement of the rear calipers, together with new braided brake hoses, clutch master & slave cylinder, exhaust silencer and timing belts. In 2023 it returned to them for new fuel tanks, a new plenum, gearbox mount and other small items relating to a full service. The car has also received some recent work at Allon White, including repairs to the driver's seat bolster, and 4 new tyres were fitted in 2024.

In the vendor's words: “It always starts, runs great and drives really well. Everything works as it should, although the air con will require a regas." Its history file is accompanied by a set of spare keys, and the latest V5C showing 6 former keepers.

The car was built on 2nd May 1996 and first registered on 3rd June 1996. The HPI report indicates that a tracker is fitted.
