This black Hillman Minx is a MkVIII model featuring the then-new 1390cc OHV engine. Built in 1955 and originally sold overseas, it was first registered in the UK in May 1998, and there have been only 2 registered keepers since then. The vendor is an enthusiast who purchased the car in 2021 from an elderly gentleman who had treated it as his pride and joy. We're told it has remained in use, and recently completed “an enjoyable trip to Normandy where it ran beautifully”. The odometer shows 51,544 miles.

The vendor describes it as a “good solid example which has a strong engine and pulls really well. I was told the paintwork is original, and the seats are in nice condition”. He has also alerted us to a weak handbrake, and some difficulty engaging 1st gear (although the car reportedly has no trouble pulling away in 2nd).

The car is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust, and a few spares are included in the boot. It is accompanied by a couple of receipts from 2021, an original workshop manual, and previous & current V5Cs. The registration number is non-transferrable.
