1980 MG MIDGET 1500

This red MG Midget 1500 is a late model, among the last 1000 to be built, and first registered on 1st August 1980. Finished in Carmine Red with a brown interior, it has been owned by the vendor since 2017, and shows 39,572 miles on its odometer.

The car's history file comprises a good collection of maintenance invoices and inspection sheets, mostly from the 1980s and 1990s, including one which indicates a professional gearbox rebuild and new clutch in 2002 at 38,741 miles. These are accompanied by a nice collection of tax discs going back to 1981, MoT certificates covering 1984-2002, and an MG owner's club yearbook from the car's year of registration, 1980.

Although there are not many receipts from later years, the car has clearly received ongoing care, and passed its last MoT with no advisories in 2019. The vendor tells us that it has recently received a new petrol tank including sender unit, exhaust, battery, and a complete brake system overhaul including a new master cylinder. In his words, it “drives well with no faults”.

The V5C is also present, indicating 5 former keepers. The previous keeper owned the car for nearly 30 years to 2017.
