1457cc petrol, manual. This red Mk1 Volkswagen Golf cabriolet GLS was partially restored by a previous owner. The original interior was renewed with black and red vinyl trim, and we're told a bare-metal respray was undertaken.
The vendor, who acquired it in 2020, reports that it runs well and is reliable. "During my ownership, the car has been fitted with a new water pump, refurbished ‘Tarantula’ alloys, new rear lights, bushes, door seal and gear linkages," he says. The odometer shows 131,539 miles.
Paperwork includes a good collection of MoT certificates, various receipts going back to the 1990s, original factory record cards, and the V5C. The vendor advises that there is a small (1cm) nick in the rear of the black mohair roof.
The MoT expired in 2022, but as a historic vehicle it is now exempt from annual testing requirements.
