1967 MORRIS MINOR 1000

1098cc, manual. This attractive Morris Minor 1000 was professionally converted into a convertible by ESM Morris Minors in 1993. Finished in Trafalgar Blue with a matching grey/blue interior, the car still presents nicely and the vendor tells us that it starts and runs well. In 1998, it received a major engine rebuild with an unleaded head, together with a new clutch and gearbox refurbishment.

Usability is improved by the addition of electronic ignition, a front anti-roll bar, sealed beam headlamps, negative earth conversion, a spin-on oil filter and an FM radio cassette player. It also sits on larger wheels and tyres than standard. The vendor took ownership in 2019, and since then it has received a new timing chain and tensioner, new carpets, and the carb has been overhauled. It was last serviced in 2024 and has not been driven much since then, sadly due to the ill health of the owner's spouse.

The car comes with a large stack of paperwork comprising maintenance receipts, letters, old MoT certificates, a handwritten service record from the 1980s, and some documents relating to a short period (1999-2002) when it was registered in France. Spare keys are present, and the vendor is also including a high-quality dust cover and a steering wheel lock.

The odometer is a replacement item fitted in 1998. At the time it read 30,220 miles, and today that figure is 40,935. (The previous odometer reading is unknown.) First registration was in December 1967, and 7 former keepers are recorded on the V5C.
