1978cc, manual. This Rover 2000 TC has had only one registered keeper from new. It wears its original grey leather interior and its original colour of Corsican Blue, and has been in regular use for most of its life.
The vendor's late father purchased the car new from Henlys of London in March 1969, and we’re told that it remained garaged at a central London address until 2004. It then moved to Wales where it spent its winters mostly under cover, covering around 50 miles a week. Maintenance was carried out by a mechanic who had formerly worked in the Rover factory, resulting in only one breakdown in the car's last 16 years of use. The MoT record shows regular testing up to November 2022 when its latest certificate expired, although as a historic vehicle it is now exempt from testing requirements.
A bodywork restoration costing around £11,000 was undertaken in 2010, although this is now showing some signs of deterioration. The vendor describes the Rover as needing “some restoration work, but the overall condition is good and the engine is sound.” As it has not been in use for a few years, some recommissioning may be required.
The car is supplied with its current V5C showing zero former keepers, the original owner’s maintenance handbook, and a CD containing photos of its bodywork restoration in 2010, plus invoices for the same, and also for servicing in 2015. The odometer displays 143,347 miles.
